Many young women growing up in Flint struggle with feelings of injustice, helplessness, lack of perspectives. Many live-in environments that can limit their access to education and initiatives that assist in planning their own educational and vocational life paths. As a result, many young women do not know how to make rational life choices, how to acquire skills that lead to employment, how to find a job that meets their competences, what their rights are, or what education path to choose.
Destiny’s House provides young adults between the age of 18 – 24 with stable and adequate housing in a safe, nurturing environment. Our goal is to strengthen the social, educational and vocational competencies of young women that will help them to live safer and more prosperous lives.
